This garage heater runs on propane and is the only vent free garage heater we know of that comes with a digital temperature readout and a built in (factory installed) blower that doesn't stop the heater working in the event of a power outage.

Designed with power outages in mind, if the electric power to the blower drops (or you don't have the blower plugged into the power) the heater still operates.
The easy to use, top mounted controls include a thermostat and digital temperature readout. The unit comes with a full 1 year warranty and includes an internal ODS system that shuts down the heater if it detects a low oxygen level in the room.
For extra safety the heater's flame is shielded behind a metal plate AND a diamond mesh screen. This double layer of protection stops wood chips and other debris from clogging up the gas outlet.
Mount it to your wall using the hardware included in the box and if you don't know if you have the correct gas fittings, add Mr Heater's Universal Hookup Kit to make sure you have it all ready to go when you installer arrives.
A 100lb or larger propane tank is required. We are regularly asked if it can be installed with a smaller tank (e.g. BBQ 20lb tank). For emergency purposes you COULD use a 20lb tank, but the connection isn't designed for it and after a while the unit will freeze up and shut down. After leaving it a while the heater could be re-used, but constant freezing/unfreezing will damage the unit. Local propane companies will typically sell or lease you a 100lb tank or a 300lb tank. And the beauty of these larger tanks... They last longer, need less refills and are typically cheaper to refill (per pound) than the smaller tanks.
